On-Site Educational Programs for Young People

Interpreters are available for guided tours of the Museum on Wednesdays through October. Living History
demonstrators include a blacksmith and printer. A docent also conducts a tour of the Metz Exhibit Hall. Special
interest tours can be designed especially for your group.

The farm maintains the Rhode Island Red Heritage Flock, along with four adult sheep) two goats and a pair of rabbits.
We also have an herb garden and flower gardens, the historic Robinson Family Cemetery and two shaded picnic areas.

Self-guided tours included our themed buildings − Carpentry Shop, Blacksmith Forge, One-Room  Schoolhouse and
the Carriage Barn.  

Guided tours last about one hour.

School tours must be booked at  least two weeks before the visit. The Museum requests a ratio of eight students per
chaperone. The cost is $6 per student. Chaperones are free. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required one week
before the scheduled tour.


Active Senior Tours

A museum interpreter will lead each group and the tour will focus on various aspects of life in a coastal village. Living
History demonstrators include the blacksmith and the printer and perhaps other artisans. Along the way, the group
will visit the state's only Rhode Island Red Heritage Flock, our sheep, our goats Ada and ZsaZsa, and
our two rabbits. The group also will see our herb garden and vegetable garden, as well as the historic Robinson
Family Cemetery.

At least 11/2 hours should be allocated for the tour.

Group tours should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

The fee for the tour is $9, or $12 per person with coffee and donuts. The coffee and donuts are available upon arrival.

Scout Camp Overnights

The Museum grounds are available for overnight camping by Scout organizations. Interested adult leaders should
contact the  Museum for more information.


Blacksmith & Letterpress Workshops

Blacksmithing lessons for adults and youngsters, and letterpress lessons for adults, all in August. Click here for
