Adventure Camps in 2006Blacksmithing
Learn the basics of working a forge with our smithy. Topics covered include forege safety, fire building and maintenance, techniques for working hot metal and reproducing artifacts in the museum's collections.
No previous experience is required

9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday through Friday, July 5-7 and 12-14.
No more than six students, age 9 and up.
$85 per student per week, includes family membership to the museum.
Maritime
Marlinspike Seamanship, Introductory Navigation and Songs of the Sea are all covered by Captain Kristi*.
Learn how to tie knots, bends and hitches and their uses, as well as being introduced to common whippings and splicing lines. Learn how3 to read and use nautical charts using plotting tools, identify positions and plot courses. And learn the history of sea chanteys and other songs uses on sailing vessels of the past by participating in an interactive chantey presentation.
