The sheep posing prettily just a couple of days before their April date with the shears.
URI senior Rachael Gately and SCM caretaker Jeff Swanson help one of the sheep off with her wool coat. At right,

Ada, is the friendlier and more inquisitive of our two goats.
Tansy, who likes to nibble on our "Do Not Feed the Animals" signs, is hoping for a handout of something even tastier.
Ada and Tansy appear to be wondering what that thing is behind the camera.

Below, left: SCM now is the official home of the Rhode Island Red, the famous breed created by a Rhode Island farmer more than 150 years ago by the mating of a domestic hen with a red Malay rooster. Dr. Wayne Durfee, a retired professor at URI and a museum volunteer, is overseeing the project. SCM now has about 60 hens. They lay about 35 eggs a day, which are donated to the Galilee Mission.
Below, right: The roosters in our heritage flock of Rhode Island Reds appear to be well aware that they are just downright gorgeous.
Juno the donkey.
Juno likes to nap curled up like a dog.
Behind her is our plastic cow, who is useless but at least doesn't have to be fed or milked.
Hoping for a morsel

Our Narragansett turkeys, Thompson
and his lady friend, Greta the Gobbler.

Thompson struts his stuff.

Our barn in past years has housed
horses, cows and an assortment
of other animals.
