As we weather our latest heat wave, we wanted to remind you that the South County Museum will be closed the week of July 20th. But make sure you’re ready to join us the following week for two fabulously flowery programs …
First, at 6:00 on Wednesday July 29, enjoy director Rebecca’s lecture “Blooming Beauty: Flowers and Fashion in South County and Beyond.” Discover floral fashions, gorgeous garden parties, and the Victorian “language of flowers” in this verdant voyage through history. Admission is $10 for the general public and free to members.
Then, celebrate the flowers in your own backyard with an Eco-Printing Class on Saturday, August 1st from 10:30 - 1:00! Preserve the beauty of high-summer blooms by imprinting them on your very own naturally-dyed silk scarf. Visit https://www.southcountymuseum.org/workshops to register, or, if you’re an SCM member, email erin@southcountymuseum.org to reserve a spot at your discounted price of $25.

We look forward to hosting you for a week of floral fantasies! (And if you simply can’t wait that long for more SCM fun - and who could blame you? - there’s still time to join us for a Historical Hand Sewing Class on July 18 at 10:30! Visit the “Workshops” page on our website for more info.)

Join the Museum! As a member, you’ll enjoy benefits like free admission and discounted class prices. Join our community of history lovers and artisans today and help keep time-honored traditions alive!
