A South County Museum publication September 2024 issue
It's September! Which means we’re officially switching over to our fall hours. The museum will be open Fridays & Saturdays 10am-4pm (last entry at 3pm), through October 26th. We will be closed September 13th & 14th for a special event.
There are lots of wonderful events & activities happening at the museum this month!
From September 6th-8th, 10am-4pm, the museum will be holding its 38th Annual Folk Art Quilt Show. Tickets are $10 for adults, or $5 for children. We received so many beautiful entries from regional quilters and can’t wait to share them with you!
For more information go to southcountymuseum.org/events

Raffle tickets are available online or in person, and the winner will be drawn at the end of the show. You do not need to be present to win.
This event and raffle directly benefit the museum’s textile programming and future quilt shows.
There’s still time to sign up for our Farm to Table Dinner Fundraiser on September 14th, 5pm-9pm.
There will be a cocktail hour at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm, and an auction at 8pm. This event is a fundraiser for the museum. Please join us in supporting local history and traditional craft.
Tickets are available here. RSVP by September 6th.
On September 28th from 11am-2pm, the museum will be hosting a Harvest Festival. We will be celebrating the arrival of fall with cider making demonstrations, a corn husk doll making station, games, and more!
There will be donuts and cider from the Hard Pressed Cider Company available until sold out. First come, first serve!
On September 18th from 5:30pm - 8:30pm, we will be hosting a workshop taught by instructor Emma Welty, Ararat: Mountain Pattern in Armenian Needlelace (Janyak).
Janyak is an ancient lace knot that evolved from net-making.
This is a process-based workshop and participants should expect to leave with a variety of samples as well as reference materials for future practice.
